Due to the Reform and Open-up policy, the common people’s life in China has changed from day to day. By describing the changes happened in the southern part of Beijing in the last decade, and taking the reconstruction of the old and dangerous houses as the background, this drama reveals the living surroundings and standards of the citizens in the old downtown, reflecting the achievements the Chinese government has made in the improvement of the common people’s life.
