“穿心中拳”套路是永春白鹤拳最基本的功法套路，有不同的重点功法练习，是循序渐进的过程，因此俗称五大门面之一。穿心中拳套路除含有其它四个套路的身型、步型架式外，增加了左右45度大小门 、开步走闪步型的练习，以及勾拳雷从地发后蹬腿的练习。着重于中盘的上下攻防、箭掌直拳、勾摘沉扣 、切插顶坠、转腕沉节、拧腰筛腹的训练，对动作协调、整体腰力的发放有很好的作用。训练过程中手法圆弧、步法矫健、似刚非刚、刚柔相济。
